Arman FC were unable to add to their points tally on Monday, suffering a 2-0 defeat to Abu Muslim Farah in the Afghanistan Champions League Season 6.
Arman put up a determined fight but struggled to turn their possession and attacking efforts into clear scoring opportunities, while Abu Muslim were more clinical when their chances came.
The match remained goalless for more than an hour before Omid Rajabi broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute, giving Abu Muslim the advantage and putting Arman on the back foot.
Arman responded by pushing forward in search of an equaliser, but Abu Muslim’s defence held firm as the minutes ticked away.
With Arman committing players forward, Abu Muslim found space late in the match, with Rajabi scoring again in the 90th minute to complete his brace and secure all three points for his side.
The result leaves Arman FC sixth in the Afghanistan Champions League standings. After eight matches this season, they have collected seven points, with two wins, one draw and five defeats.
Arman have scored nine goals so far this season and conceded 13, leaving them with a goal difference of -4.
Despite the setback, Arman remain in the middle of the Season 6 standings and will now turn their attention to their next fixture, on Friday, against Istiqlal Kabul.
