Arman FC produced a determined second-half comeback on Sunday, overturning a half-time deficit to beat Khurasan Faryab 2-1 in the Afghanistan Champions League.
The result provided a welcome boost for Arman FC after the team had suffered defeats in their previous two matches and were looking to get their campaign back on track.
Khurasan Faryab went into the break with a 1-0 lead, leaving Arman facing the prospect of a third consecutive defeat.
But the second half was a completely different story.
Arman came out with renewed intensity and pulled out all the stops in search of a way back into the match.
Their pressure eventually paid off when Tanin Azizi found the back of the net to bring Arman level at 1-1.
With the momentum now firmly behind them, Arman continued to push forward and were rewarded again when Suliman Aria scored to complete the turnaround and put his side 2-1 ahead.
Aria’s contribution went beyond the winning goal. The Arman FC star delivered an influential performance throughout the match and was subsequently named the Player of the Match.
The comeback capped an impressive response from Arman, who refused to let their difficult run continue after two successive defeats.
From trailing 1-0 at half-time to walking away with a 2-1 victory, Arman FC showed character and determination when it mattered most.
The win gives the team renewed confidence as they look ahead to their next Afghanistan Champions League fixture, which will take place on Tuesday, September 22, against Omar Zawak FC.
